8-27 102 —> 5621. Probably make it to Pittsburg Wed night. Today's lunch
in Cape Gir, MO. Spent the night in Vienna, IL. Things are showing more &
more mid-west— cops watched me all last night b/ of strong thunderstorm
warnings. I think the bikecentenial route follows 60, but I'm not sure. The river
ferry was neat. Had a pivot on the side of a barge for the 'tug' to swing around
on, very interesting. Supposedly got 105° errrrr! At 6:30 this morning it
was 75°. Good God! I've mapped out about 100 miles a day to Pitts. But can
slack of[f] at [the] start, I believe I'll do it. 41 miles to Cape

Giradeau which means I better go back to second grade & learn to add. Oh well.
PS The town is pronounced Vi-anna.
